Refund Policy

Effective Date: November 1, 2025

One Step Behaviour Services is dedicated to providing transparent and fair telehealth Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and parent-mediated intervention (PMI) services in Ontario. This Refund Policy outlines our terms for cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds, in compliance with the **College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)**, **Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)**, and Ontario consumer protection laws. Our mission, “Partnering with Parents, Step by Step to Success,” guides our commitment to clear financial agreements.

Parent Coaching Packages

 Cancellations:

    - Full refund, less a $50 administrative fee, if canceled in writing ([yourbusinessemail@onestepbehaviourservices.ca]) at least 48 hours before the first session.

    - No refunds after 14 days, except in exceptional circumstances (e.g., medical emergency), at our discretion.

Missed Sessions: Sessions missed with less than 12 hours’ notice are charged at full price ($150/hour). No refunds are provided for missed sessions.

Rescheduling: You may reschedule sessions at any time. If rescheduling is requested within 24 hours of the session, rescheduling is subject to our availability. If we cannot accommodate a new time within the same week, the session is considered missed, and no refund is provided.

Urgent Response Services (URS) and Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Funding

  • Services funded through URS or OAP (e.g., $120/hour for 18–20 hours over 12–16 weeks) follow the refund and cancellation policies of lead agencies (e.g., ErinoakKids, REACH). Refunds, if applicable, are pro-rated for unused services per their guidelines.

  • For private pay top-ups (e.g., $150/hour), the private pay refund and rescheduling terms above apply.

  • Missed sessions with less than 12 hours’ notice are charged at the funded rate ($120/hour), with rescheduling subject to availability as above.

## 3. Important Disclaimers

- **Behavior Change Outcomes**: Behavior change is complex and depends on factors such as accurate implementation of interventions, full disclosure of family dynamics, environment, and consequences, and ongoing commitment. While we strive to provide effective PMI, One Step Behaviour Services cannot guarantee specific results or outcomes, in line with CPBAO and BACB ethical standards.

- **Purpose of PMI Packages**: Our 12–16-week PMI packages and services are designed to establish a foundation of skills and tools for parents to support their child’s behavior. These tools are intended for continued use beyond the package duration to promote long-term progress, rather than achieving dramatic behavior change within the initial timeframe.

## 4. Requesting a Refund

- Submit refund requests in writing to [yourbusinessemail@onestepbehaviourservices.ca], including your name, service details, and reason for cancellation.

- Refunds are processed within 14 business days via the original payment method (e.g., Square).

## 5. Accessibility

- This policy is available in alternative formats (e.g., large print, email) upon request, per the **Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)**.
